Hey kids,
Check this out! I was on the non-consumer gal’s website and ”Alunachic” posted this comment
I remembered Bank of America has an offer for free museum admission by showing your debit card. I’m not sure where you bank, but a quick check revealed several museums with free admission via Bof A debit card.
Here’s the link for Bank of America Museums. Seattle WA has:
- Museum of History and Industry (in the Montlake District, near UW).
- Wing Luke Asian Museum (The ID – International District), a cool little spot, which you would drive right past if you weren’t looking for it.
- Northwest African American Museum (I’ve never been there. Check it out.)
These places are free on the first full weekend of every month. You need a B/of/A piece of ID. Thanks Alunachic.
Wow, I just checked NYC. MOMA’s on the list. I love this. And, the Whitney. I need to make sure my next trip to the East Coast is the right weekend. Maybe, I should look at LA, too. I go there from time to time to see my daughter.

The best places in Seattle (and surrounding areas) to meet people over 40 include fun activities for anyone of any age. Washington has an abundance of cheap and free things to do to make friends with seniors, boomers, kids, and dogs, etc.
What the heck it’s free to Meet People in Seattle, at places like the Seattle Art Walk, etc.

Wildflowers at Mt Rainier
Here are the best places for fabulous, easy hikes at Mount Rainier National Park. There are tons of park trails which are good for kids and families near Longmire Inn, Paradise Inn, Ohanapecosh, and Sunrise Day Lodge. Cloudy days may obscure views of the mountain, but it’s still great to take a lazy hike in a place where the scenery rivals Switzerland. July and August are best times for wildflowers.
You are definitely going to love these easy hikes at Mount Rainier National Park! Get out of that car and smell the forest.

The best place to rent a cabin at Mount Rainier is not the National Park Lodging. Instead, stay near the Ohanapecosh, White River, or Nisqually Entrance of the park.
Mount Rainier National Park Lodging does not rent cabins inside the park. The best place to rent a cabin is just outside one of the three entrances. Read about the entrances to Mt Rainier.
(When I was young, my grandfather had a cabin at Crystal Mountain. I thought everyone had a cabin. Actually, I used to cry when my parents “made” me go to the mountains because they wouldn’t let me take my Beatles records.) Anyway, I wish we still had that place and I lust after the cabins in the article.

Ivar's Fish & Chips
The Fremont neighborhood in Seattle has tons of Cheap & Free things to do.
In many parts of the country, it’s difficult to find cheap date ideas for couples. In Seattle, it’s easy. Take a look at the Fremont neighborhood. It has Gas Works Park, the Burke Gilman Trail, Ivar’s fish & chips, a kite hill, Lake Union, views to warm the heart of any photo geek, and of course, a Troll.

Sammamish River Trail
The Always Free Sammamish River Trail is part of an extensive biking system in King County.
The Sammamish River Trail is a beautiful outdoor escape from stress.
It begins at Marymoor Park and follows the edge of a stream for miles. Cyclists who pursue the path to its end, will merge with the Burke Gilman Trail which leads to Lake Union. The trail hosts a broad spectum of people, including old ladies with matching dogs, parents and kids on family day out, and couples biking to the Redhook Ale Brewery for a cheap fun date.
Read more: Sammamish River Trail – Marymoor Park to Seattle at Suite 101. (I love to people watch on the Sammamish River Trail. And, for you single gals: There are some cute guys at the Redhook Ale Brewery. Bike there for lunch and see if they come back.)
